The Board of Directors for Matterhorn Home Health is concerned with CEO Patricia Simmons’ recent press release related to the faulty GlucoGauge units. The Board is particularly concerned with Simmons’ rather costly spending choices in the wake of this crisis. As you know, the GlucoGauge was already the most expensive project Matterhorn ever developed. Furthermore, In response to initial reports about the malfunctioning device, the company continued to sink millions into a failed communication campaign seemingly based on faulty evidence. The Board has asked you to put together a letter explaining your choices to all of Matterhorn’s major investors. This letter should explain why Matterhorn chose to spend the money that it did on this failed communication campaign. You should also offer some insight on how the company plans to correct such mismanagement in the future

SCI 207 Week 2 – Discussion
Before completing your post, review the Week 2: Food & Agriculture interactive video, which is designed to assist you in understanding more about this week’s topic and to help you organize your initial post.
In the United States, we are fortunate to have an abundant supply of food. However, this abundance is largely due to advances in agricultural technologies, which have in turn created numerous concerns surrounding our food sources. Provide at least two recent (since the Green Revolution ended) examples of how the United States has increased its food production, and discuss how these changes have affected both the environment and food safety.  Possible innovations you might cover include, but are not limited to: GM agriculture, polyculture farming, permaculture farming, vertical farms, small-scale organic farming, aquaponics, concentrated animal feeding operations, urban gardening (rooftop and vacant lot), not-till farming, precision farming, use of drones, and use of GPS technology.
Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Utilize at least two scholarly or reputable resources and your textbook to support your claims. Cite your sources in APA format. Quoted text should constitute no more than ten percent of your post.  Respond to at least two of your classmates’ posts by Day 7.
Carefully review the Discussion Forum Grading Rubric for the criteria that will be used to evaluate this Discussion Thread.

Between 2007 and 2009, the United States experienced a severe financial crisis and economic downturn commonly known as the Great Recession. Starting in 2006, housing values fell 30%, causing losses in mortgage-backed securities for families and financial institutions. The recession was marked by a drop in aggregate demand that caused a decline in GDP and an increase in unemployment. In your initial post, draw or find an example of an aggregate demand and aggregate supply (AD/AS) model that illustrates the general trends of the U.S. economy during the Great Recession. (The example may be from your own research or from the textbook.) In addition to your image, provide a response to the following:How did the AD/AS equilibrium change over time?

The Weemow Lawn Service mows its customers’ lawns and provides lawn maintenance starting in the spring, through the summer, and into the early fall. During the winter, the service doesn’t operate, and Weemow’s owners, Jeff and ***** *****, find part-time jobs. They are considering the possibility of doing snow removal during the winter. A snowblower and a shovel would cost them $700. Because Jeff would do all the work, with occasional help from Julie, their cost per job would be about $3.a.If they charge $35 to clear a normal-size home driveway, how many jobs would they need to break even?b.Based on past winters, Jeff and Julie believe they can expect about six major snowfalls in the winter and would be able to work all day for the two days immediately following the snows, when people want their driveways cleared. If they are able to do about 10 snow removal jobs per day (and they believe they will have that much demand because of their existing customer base), how much money can theyexpect to make?

Weemow would need a small tractor with a snow plow, which costs $1,800, and would have to hire someone on an hourly basis to help, which with gas would cost about $28 per job. Jeff and Julie estimate that they could do four of these large jobs per day. If they charged $150 per job, would this be a better alternative than clearing individuals’ driveways?d.If Weemow wanted to do both (b) and (c), Jeff and Julie would need to hire one more person to do the driveways, while Jeff worked with the other person on the parking lots. This would add $15 in cost per driveway job. Should they do this?
