Ethical principle application | Nursing homework help

You have been working as a nurse in the adult oncology unit for the past year. You have developed a close relationship with many of your patients, but Mr. Newcomb has a special place in your heart. He has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and has undergone aggressive chemotherapy. Each day his wife has come to the unit to be with her husband. They have been married for over 40 years and share a deep love.
Mr. and Mrs. Newcomb have made the decision to no longer continue with treatment and have decided that hospice care is needed. Over the past few days, you have watched Mr. Newcomb’s health decline, and you can tell from your experience that he does not have much time left to live. Mr. Newcomb has been very open about discussing his death, and you have had the opportunity to learn about his life and the legacy he will leave behind.
While you are completing your rounds, you stop in Mr. Newcomb’s room to see how he is doing. You ask, “Is there anything else I can do for you?” Mr. Newcomb has rarely asked for anything, but today he has one request. Mr. Newcomb states, “Before I die, I would like to see my mistress one more time. Mrs. Newcomb is always here. Do you think you could tell her that I will be busy for a few hours tomorrow so I can make arrangements to see my mistress one more time?”
Reflect on the following questions before you begin working on this task:
•   What would you do in this scenario?
•   How can your knowledge of ethical principles be utilized to determine your response to Mr. Newcomb?
•   How would this affect you as a nurse and direct provider of care for Mr. Newcomb?
A.  Summarize how the principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice apply to the scenario by doing the following:
1.  Describe how you would respond to Mr. Newcomb’s request.
2.  Evaluate how you applied the principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice to the scenario.
3.  Examine how personal beliefs and values influenced your response to the scenario.
4.  Describe three strategies to promote self-care.

Arts and ideas | Architecture and Design homework help

You are required to view a contemporary, original piece of art in your area and compare/contrast it to an ancient work from your text, after analyzing both pieces. For example, if you choose a portrait of a leader, find one in your text; if you choose a building, like a church, find one in your text to compare.
Note:   If a museum is not available, try your public library, local community college, or an art gallery for sculptures, parks for statues, or government buildings for paintings.  Also, don’t forget that architecture is an art form.  Look around for a church or an interesting building.  Art is everywhere!
Your paper should address the following:

Identification: Provide Identifying details for each work (10 points = 5 points for each work):

Artist: Who was the artist?
Title of the work: What is the title of the work?
Date: When was the work created?
Media: How/with what was the work created?
Location:  Where is the work from your area displayed? For the work from your text, please also include the page number.

Description: What does each work look like? (100 points = 50 points for each work):

Describe the subject matter of each work, in detail.  Imagine you are describing the work to a blind person; use that level of detail.  For example, don’t just say there’s a house in a field.
Identify and discuss five formal elements of art (Choose from line, shape, color, texture, space, contrast, scale, balance, and emphasis) in detail, for each work.  For instance, don’t just tell me there were lines in the work, tell me what kind (straight, curved, horizontal, diagonal, thick, thin, implied, etc.) and tell me how they affect the composition (lines dominate the left half of the work, etc.).

Compare and Contrast the two (2) works (70 points):

Compare and contrast the works (Do not compare the terms from part 2), and answer these questions in your analysis:  How are the works similar and how are they different? Is the message or function the same?  Is the intended audience different?  Do they look alike or not? Has the meaning changed over time?
Also discuss such things as symbolism and purpose (aesthetic, social commentary, propaganda, etc.) and evaluate the effectiveness of the works.

Write a final paper from my rough draft with following all

Upon completing the writing project, you will:
(1) Obtain experience in writing about genomics;
(2) Synthesize information from several sources that address your topic and your question;
(3) Build an argument to defend the answer to your topic/question.
For each option, the final product of the writing project will be a five-page (double-spaced) report. The project must be written eloquently and in complete sentences. Writing quality counts!

Submitted on time – 20 points
Brief Introduction to your topic (1-2 paragraphs) – 50 points

This should be brief but give the reader the context to understand your paper. Assume the audience of your paper is your fellow classmates and Dr. Demuth. Make sure that you include information that is relevant to your thesis, and exclude information that is not relevant to your thesis.

Thesis – 20 points

This is where you start addressing your question and/or thesis. It is the start of the body, or main part, of your project.
BOLD these sentences.

Body (100 points)

This is the main part of your paper and includes arguments for defending your thesis. You will likely cite a few research papers here.
There must be a minimum of three paragraphs and five pages. 10 points will be deducted for each missing paragraph or page.
The five pages are for WRITING; references and/or figures are not included.

A citation/reference to at least TWO lectures – 20 points

This is to make sure that the basic principles of genomics are in your paper. You can use a simple citation format, such as (Module 2, Genomic diversity).

At least THREE citations/references to the primary RESEARCH literature – 30 points

This has to be a research article (not a review article or a mainstream news article). If you are unsure, you can ask Dr. Fujita. Many students lose points on this so be sure you have a real research paper!

Adequate grammar – 30 points

Use complete and coherent sentences. The paper needs to flow and make logical sense. Dr. Demuth must be able to understand the writing.

Unicheck score is <10% – 10 points
Response to blind reviews – 40 points

You need to provide responses to the group review feedback.
Every comment/suggestion needs to be responded to.
For positive feedback, a simple “Thank you” will suffice.
For constructive feedback, explain in a sentence or two how you addressed that feedback in your paper.
Submit this as a separate page in your paper.

Avenue of Advocacy that I Have Taken Into My Personal Life Discussion

reply to discussion post belowWhat a phenomenal story Pete, thank you for sharing that story with us!  And can I say how thankful so many families must be, that have had loved ones saved dues to your extensive efforts to get this program started!  One avenue of advocacy that I have taken into my personal life is helping educate and assist people with nutrition.  Although this is not directly related to CI/KR, I feel that the country as a whole does not do enough with the education of our youth.  One way this could be alleviated is through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other agricultural companies throughout the Nation.  Although this is a tough topic to speak of, largely due to the fact that so much of the Nation’s agricultural cash crops (Corn, Soy, Wheat, etc.) are controlled by monopolies.  With vast sums of money tied into these resources, why would information be given to the masses that would tell them to stop eating products containing corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, dextrose, sugar, maltodextrin just to name a few. One young man that I work with has been having issues with his weight and it has started to negatively effect his health, work performance and productivity.  I took it upon myself to start educating him and helping with his overall health.  The first thing that I did was sit down with him and asked him to name 5 things that he routinely eats that he knows he shouldn’t.  The list contained items such as soda, chips and other convenient snacks, sweet breads, desserts… you get the idea.  Now, this is a 26 year old male, active duty Navy and an adult capable of making his own decisions.  If he KNOWS that he shouldn’t be eating items such as this, why is he?  There is information out there that tells us things like this are bad for our overall health, but what about those individuals that don’t get to make their own nutritional choices?  This is a topic very near and dear to me and I am extremely curious to see what some of you think.  I feel the more information needs to provided to the youth of our country, and from a government standpoint, WE need to initiate a movement to better the health and well-being of our children.

Psych week 1 dq 2 | COUN 6220 – Psychology of Personality

POWER OF THE SITUATION
The motive to fit in often compels people to do what is considered appropriate behavior in a given situation. Sometimes the compulsion to fit in leads people to say or do something at odds with their sense of self. No one wants to be perceived as weird. Therefore, when the situation calls for a certain kind of behavior, people are likely to comply, even when that behavior is not consistent with their self-concept.
For this Discussion, you will examine conflict between a person’s behavior and sense of Be sure to review the Learning Resources before completing this activity.Click the weekly resources link to access the resources.

Creative writing | American history homework help

Creative writing in response to literature is a way for students to respond to literature in a personal way. Creative writing provides a way for students to practice critical thinking and develop a stronger understanding of literary criticism while showing creativity and a bit of their own personalities. For this creative writing assignment, you will do a character analysis to allow you to get inside the mind of one of the characters.”Rip Van Winkle” and “Young Goodman Brown” are told as third-person narratives, not as first-person narratives. The difference is that a third-person narrative presents the characters to us in the words of a narrator rather than from the words of the characters themselves. The story contains descriptions such as “Rip Van Winkle did this” or “Young Goodman Brown said that,” but it’s not as if the characters themselves are telling everything from their perspective. Of course, sometimes they speak in the story, but they do not get to tell the story or what they thinking or feeling. It is up to the reader to determine what the characters might be thinking or feeling. For this assignment, choose one of the following options:(A) Imagine you are Rip Van Winkle’s daughter, Judith, writing a journal entry after her father reappears after 20 years. Try to get into the mind of Judith. Be imaginative and creative. Pretend you are Judith and have just seen your father after he has been missing for 20 years. You will not be retelling the plot of the story; you will be Judith reflecting on the events of the day. In this journal entry you can put down whatever thoughts she might have using absolute frankness and honesty.? OR(B) Imagine you are Young Goodman Brown writing a journal entry the day after the events described in the story. Try to get into the mind of Goodman Brown. Be imaginative and creative. Pretend you are Goodman Brown and have just experienced the events described in the story. You will not be retelling the plot of the story; you will be Goodman Brown interpreting and reflecting on the events of the day. In this journal entry you can put down whatever thoughts Goodman Brown might have using absolute frankness and honesty.? Criteria:

Write a minimum 400 words in paragraph form, using Times New Roman 12-point font (or similar) with double spacing. A title page is not required.

UMU Employer Brand Role in HR Recruitment and Selection Article Critique

Use an academic online Library to locate and review a scholarly article found in a peer-reviewed journal related to HR recruiting, unions, labor relations, or international human resources management. In peer-reviewed journals, the articles were reviewed by other professionals in the field to ensure the accuracy and quality of the articles, which is ideal when writing an article critique.Research tip: When researching using the databases, you can limit your search to only peer-reviewed articles. To do this, look for the phrase “limit results,” and select “peer-reviewed articles.” There is a minimum requirement of 500 words for the article critique. Format your critique in APA style. Begin with an introduction that defines the subject of your critique and your point of view. You will first need to identify and explain the author’s ideas. Include specific passages that support your description of the author’s point of view. Take into consideration how you would approach a recruiting program for your company based on the author’s ideas on the subject matter. What challenges would you face if your company were a global conglomerate? Defend your point of view by raising specific issues or aspects of the argument. Offer your own opinion. Explain what you think about the argument. Describe several points with which you agree or disagree. Explain how the passages support your opinion. Conclude your critique by summarizing your argument and re-emphasizing your opinion. For each of the points you mention, include specific passages from the text (you may summarize, quote, or paraphrase, being sure to include proper in-text citations) that provide evidence for your point of view.
